Fly the Nest is led by a sitting senior executive at one of the nation's largest student housing operators: 20+ years across operations, leasing, and marketing, tens of thousands of beds leased, and more move-in Augusts than we care to count. Behind that founder is a collective of industry colleagues, regional managers, property managers, leasing veterans, and maintenance supervisors, with 100+ years of combined experience. Between us, we've handled thousands of move-ins and seen every avoidable mistake, hidden fee, and lease clause that comes back to bite.

One thing you'll notice: no names. That's deliberate. We still work inside this industry, which is exactly why the advice is current, and exactly why we publish anonymously. No employer operates, reviews, or endorses this site, and nothing here reflects any company's official position. Anonymity is what lets us tell you how it actually works.

Here's the thing: all that knowledge usually sits on the property's side of the desk. Parents make one of the biggest decisions of their kid's young life mostly in the dark, and often under pressure. We started Fly the Nest to flip that, to hand families the same insider knowledge we'd give our own kids.
